Remember The Clouds?

October 21, 2009

They’re back. Moisture streaming ahead of former hurricane Rick will combine with a fairly strong storm system to bring widespread rain to the area starting later today.

Wednesday: Becoming mostly cloudy and a bit more humid with a 40% chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s with southeasterly wind around 8-16 mph.

Wednesday Night: Rain and thunderstorms will become widespread. Lows will be near 70.

Thursday: Heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue. Highs will be in the lower to middle 70s.

Thursday Night: Rain should end toward morning. Lows will be in the middle to upper 50s. Total rainfall accumulations will range from 1-4 inches with isolated totals over 5 inches.

Friday: Mostly cloudy and cooler. Highs will be in the middle to upper 60s.

Saturday through Tuesday: Things look mostly dry so I’ll leave rain chances below 20% throughout the period. Temperatures will actually be close to normal with highs rising from the lower 70s to the upper 70s. Lows will rise from the upper 40s to the upper 50s.

Beyond lthis part of the forecast there are at least a few indications of a significant storm system late next week. Plenty could change before then, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
