Could It Actually Get Cold?

October 14, 2009

Up until now we’ve dodged any sort of major, out of the ordinary cool down here in the deep south. That all changes this weekend as an official humdinger of a cold front will roll down from Canada and bring us an extended look at low temperatures in the 40s for at least a couple of nights. That also means that at some point in the forseeable future we will be rainless! How about that?

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and humid with a 70% chance for rain and thunderstorms. Remember, that doesn’t mean 70% of your day will be covered in rain, but that there is a 70% chance that you will see measurable rain at your house before 6:00 P.M. Highs will be in the lower to middle 80s with westerly wind around 5-10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance for showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s. Someone could hit 90 if the sun pops out for a couple of hours!

Thursday Night: Scattered rain and thunderstorms will end late in the night. Lows will be near 60.

Friday: Decreasing clouds, cooler, and much less humid. Highs will be in the middle 70s.

Saturday through Tuesday: Mostly dry and cool through th period. The only real difference day to day will be some more clouds by Tuesday. Lows will be near 50
Saturday and Tuesday morning, but will fall all the way into the lower to middle 40s both Sunday and Monday morning! Highs will be pleasantly located from the middle 60s to the lower 70s through the period. Finally, some real fall weather to enjoy! It looks like another reinforcing shot of cool air will arrive late next week. Dare I say we’re finally leaving summer’s heat and humidity behind! It looks like we’re getting there.
