A Brief Break From The Storms

October 2, 2009

Last night shaped up as I thought it would. Lots of bark, not much bite. That was a solid line of storms for sure, and it was nice to see only a couple of minor damage reports, and most importantly, no injury reports. All in all, things were pretty well behaved. Now we have about 36-48 hours without rain, and with a renewed look at that much lower humidity we saw earlier in the week. Here’s how things stack up!

Friday: Decreasing clouds and lower humidity. Highs will be near 80, with northerly wind around 8-16 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear early with patchy fog possible after midnight. Lows will be in the lower to middle 50s, with light and variable wind.

Saturday: Increasing clouds late, with a sight chance for a shower or two late in the day. Highs will be in the lower 80s.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance for showers. Lows will be in the middle 60s.

Sunday: Rain and thunderstorms will develop fairly early in the day. Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s. The rain chance is 80%.

Monday through Thursday: Numerous thunderstorms will continue Monday and Tuesday. I’ll leave chances around 60% for those days, and knock them back to around 30% for Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will range from 81-86 throughout the period, with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s through Wednesday. Thursday morning will bring slightly cooler air, with lows in the middle 60s.

Have a great weekend!
