Storms Popping Already

September 22, 2009

It looks like a wet day for most in the area today. I think almost everyone will end up seeing measurable rain. There’s plenty of moisture, a front to help focus the rainfall, and to be honest, the rain is already developing….. so I’m not really going out on a limb to say that it will rain. s4qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqj`

I will leave that jumble of letters in this forecast. That’s what happens when your new ten week old kitten tries to type on your laptop as you go and empty the rain gauge. Here’s the forecast. If it’s wrong, I’ll blame it on the kitten.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with off and on rain and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower 80s with southerly wind around 5-10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance for thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a 70% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower to middle 80s.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance for thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy with a 40% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s.

Friday through Monday: Things should slowly begin to dry out starting Friday. I’ll bring rain chances down from 30% on Friday to near 0% by next Monday. The front will push through the area but only bring slightly cooler air. I’ll keep highs in the 85-90 degree range throughout the forecast period with lows falling from near 70 to the middle 60s. There will be a nice little drop off in humidity by Sunday or Monday, but true fall-like weather will stay away for now.
