The Rain Comes Marching In

September 21, 2009

I’d like to interrupt this forecast to state the obvious. Drew Brees is good. Thank God the Saints give this St. Louis kid something to watch! 9 TD’s in 2 games is pure insanity. Here’s to keeping that pace up for the rest of the year! Forecast-wise, things aren’t looking as promising as the Saints are. We are dealing with another prolonged bout of upper level energy lingering around the area. That means rain, and possibly a good bit of it. Here’s how it breaks down day by day.

Monday: Mostly cloudy and humid with a 40% chance for showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be near 90 with southerly wind around 5-10 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance for showers. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

Tuesday: Rain and thunderstorms will become likely in the afternoon. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance for thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s.

Thursday through Sunday: Our cut off upper level system to the north will finally move out late this weekend. Highs each day through the period will be from 85-90, with lows around 70. Rain chances will be around 50% for Thursday and Friday, and will drop off to 20-30% on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday may end up being totally dry! Personally, I like a good gray Sunday during football season. It doesn’t look like this will be my kind of Sunday! Have a great week!
