Slow Moving Storm System To Bring More Rain

September 20, 2009

A few days ago it looked like some of the newly developing colder air in Canada could at least make a bit of a push into our area. Right now it looks like that front will hang up overhead and bring us more chances for rain. I actually think it will end up more widespread than what we saw for most of last week. Heck, we may even see a severe storm or two on Tuesday. Here’s your workweek forecast!

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 40% chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Highs will be near 90 with southwesterly wind around 5-10 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy and muggy. Lows will be in the lower 70s. Some patchy fog could form toward morning.

Monday: Partly sunny with a 40% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be near 90.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance for thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a 70% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s.

Wednesday through Sunday: It really looks like more of the same. Rain chances will be in the 40-50% range each day as the cold front slows to a crawl right over top of us. That will help focus thunderstorms in our area each afternoon. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s each day depending on how much cloud cover we see. Lows will generally be within a couple of degrees of 70. No real big cool down on the horizon, but you have to figure it’s coming soon!
