A Forecast and a Potential Tropical Storm

September 1, 2009

It looks like Erika is slowly forming over the Atlantic. Thunderstorms are very impressive with the feature this morning and should a closed circulation form, this thing will go straight to tropical storm status. Track guidance is still all over the place, but it looks increasingly likely that we won’t have to worry about this potential storm. The upper level high should stay too weak to make this much of a threat for us.

The forecast…..

Tuesday: Partly sunny and pleasant. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s with northeasterly wind around 5-15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear with lows in the upper 50s to near 60.

Wednesday: Partly sunny and nice once again. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear and cool. Lows will be in the lower 60s.

Thursday: Partly sunny and warm. Highs will be near 90.

Friday through Sunday: Rain chances will pop back up into the 30-40% range as a slow moving upper level disturbance wanders to our north. Highs will be from 88-91, and lows should range from 66-69.
