Weekend Forecast

August 7, 2009

The weekend is approaching rapidly, and while there may be a few storms each day, there will be plenty of dry time. Kristen and I had a great time peddling shirts at the Nachman open house last night. If you left with a bag full of Louisiana Pro Stitch goodies, thank you very much! The order forms will be coming home with your kids next week if you missed out last night. Oh, the weather forecast, I almost forgot.

Friday: Hot and humid with a 20% chance for an afternoon thunderstorm. Highs will be in the middle 90s, with southeasterly wind around 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear and muggy. Lows will be in the middle 70s with light and variable wind.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower to middle 90s.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and still quite warm. Lows will be in the middle 70s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 40% chance for thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower to middle 90s.

Monday through Wednesday: It looks like a typical summer pattern. High pressure to the east will usher in moisture and help storms fire on the sea breeze each day. I’ll go with a 30-40% chance for thunderstorms each day with highs in the lower to middle 90s. No hurricanes yet, but I get the feeling that in the next couple of weeks things will get more active in the Atlantic. That doesn’t mean we’ll have any problems, but the height of hurricane season could certainly bring some more interesting days ahead, especially with that high pressure strengthening to our east. I’ll be watching!
